EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

It is the policy of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to treat all applicants and employees in a fair and non-discriminatory manner, without regard to race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition (as defined under California and federal employment laws), pregnancy, gender identity, marital status, sex, age, sexual orientation, or status as a Vietnam-era veteran or qualified disabled veteran or any other protected characteristic.  This equal employment opportunity policy applies to all employment-related decisions, including, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training, compensation and promotion of all employees in every job classification.

In furtherance of this policy, the Chamber will not permit the use of epithets, innuendos, slurs or jokes based on any of the above-prohibited classifications.  Such epithets, innuendos, slurs or jokes are prohibited.  All employees (including supervisory personnel) shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall refrain from sexual advances, verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, or requests for sexual favors.  Any employee who violates the above policy and our commitment to equal employment opportunity shall be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination.

In addition to the internal policies outlined in this policy, a complaint process and legal remedies are available through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, respectively.  Although the Chamber encourages you to report all complaints of discrimination or harassment internally in accordance with the procedures set forth herein, you may feel free to seek relief from these outside government agencies.  The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) can be reached at 1 (800) 669-4000 or at the Roybal Federal Building, 255 East Temple St., 4th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90012.  The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (“DFEH”) can be reached at 1 (800) 884-1684 or at Los Angeles District Office, 611 West Sixth Street, Suite 1500, Los Angeles, CA  90017.  The Chamber will not retaliate against any employee who opposes any unlawful employment practice or who, in good faith, lodges a complaint with or participates in an investigation, proceeding or hearing conducted by the Chamber, the EEOC or the DFEH.
