Flowers were placed on the Walk of Fame star of  entertainer Michael Jackson on Friday, June 26 at 9 a.m. at 6927 Hollywood Boulevard. Michael Jackson’s star  # 1,793 was dedicated on November 20, 1984 for his work in the field of recording. The flowers are placed on the stars on behalf of the Hollywood community by the Hollywood Historic Trust, a non-profit organization. NEW WALK OF FAME RECIPIENTS FOR 2010

HOLLYWOOD, CA.—A new group of entertainers in motion pictures, television, live theater, and recording have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it was announced today by the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. These individuals were chosen from among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held June 15, and ratified by the Chamber's Board of Directors.

The Walk of Fame recipients
for the year 2010 are:

MOTION PICTURES: 
James Cameron, Russell Crowe, John Cusack, Colin Firth, Gale Anne Hurd, Alan Menken, Randy Newman, Adam Sandler,
Emma Thompson and Mark Wahlberg

TELEVISION:
Chris Berman, Jon Cryer, Peter Graves, Jimmy Kimmel,
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bill Maher, and Sam Waterston

RECORDING:
Bryan Adams, The Funk Brothers, Alan Jackson, Chaka Khan, Van Morrison,
Marco Antonio Solis, Ringo Starr, ZZ Top and posthumously Roy Orbison

After much consideration, the Walk of Fame committee has selected 28 of our 'most talented' from more than 200 nominations!  Fans and tourists worldwide will enjoy seeing their favorite celebrities receive this rare accolade. What is even more exciting is that these particular recipients will have the distinctive honor of being selected during the year that celebrates the Walk of Fame’s 50th Anniversary,” stated Earl Lestz, Chairman of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee.

HOLLYWOOD, CA.—A new group of entertainers in motion pictures, television, live theater, and recording have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it was announced today by Johnny Grant, chairman of the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. These individuals were chosen from among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held June 8, and ratified by the Chamber's Board of Directors.

Walk of Fame Chairman Johnny Grant commented, “Today I am happy to announce an array of celebrities who have earned this recognition for a combination of professional achievement and community involvement.”

The Walk of Fame recipients for the year 2008 are:

MOTION PICTURES:
Angela Bassett, Cate Blanchett, Stan Lee, The Munchkins,
Tim Robbins and The Westmores of Hollywood

TELEVISION:
Bill Geist, Kate Linder, Howie Mandel, Sherwood Schwartz, Vince McMahon,

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk Of Fame Committee
Announces New Walk Of Fame Recipients for 2007

A new group of entertainers in motion pictures, television, radio, live theater, and recording have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it was announced June 23, 2006 by Johnny Grant, chairman of the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

These individuals were chosen from among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held June 16, and ratified by the Chamber's Board of Directors.

Walk of Fame Chairman Johnny Grant commented, “It’s a privilege to honor these performers, and I’m sure their fans and supporters will enjoy attending the induction ceremonies on Hollywood Boulevard.”

The Walk of Fame recipients for the year 2007 are:

MOTION PICTURES
Michael Caine, Matt Damon, Lauren Shuler Donner, Jamie Foxx, John Goodman, Michelle Pfeiffer and director Robert Altman.

TELEVISION
Erik Estrada, Kiefer Sutherland, Jerry Stiller, Barbara Walters and producer Dick Wolf.

RECORDING
Mariah Carey, Sean “Diddy” Combs, The Doors, Crystal Gayle, Tim McGraw, Leann Rimes and Shania Twain.
