Creating A Strong Economy
The annual Economic Development Summit, a project of
the Chamber’s Economic Development Committee,
updates attendees on new Hollywood residential and
commercial developments, as well as historic
rehabilitations and remodels. More than 300
attendees, representing all aspects of real estate
development and investment, hear from city officials
and community leaders regarding Hollywood’s economic
present, and future.
More than 2,000 copies of the annual Hollywood
Economic Development Update are printed and
distributed each year. This sought-after document
prepared by the Chamber, is the most comprehensive
listing available of the status of most Hollywood
development projects.
The Economic Development Committee coordinates
efforts to retain and attract businesses to
Hollywood. Comprised of volunteer members, the
committee works closely with new developers and
financial investors to ensure that community support
is mobilized to gain approval for projects important
to Hollywood’s revitalization.
Team Hollywood, a coalition assembled by the
Chamber, promotes Hollywood’s renaissance to real
estate professionals at relevant development
meetings and conferences.
The Movers & Shakers bi-annual meeting brings
Hollywood’s top employers together with community
leaders for briefings on critical issues, and to
discuss their role in the community.
Continuing to improve Hollywood’s business
districts, the Chamber works closely with the
Hollywood Entertainment District and Media BID and
is helping to create new BIDs in East Hollywood and
on Sunset Boulevard.
The Chamber worked to bring Adaptive Reuse program
as well as a new Creative Sign Use District to
Hollywood. A strong advocacy role is played by the
Chamber on Citywide issues that will impact
business, such as inclusionary zoning and business
tax reform. |
